ELOHIM'S WORD CONCERNING
FOOD (cont.)
by Dave R. Mode, Jr.
Numbers 15:15-16
"15 One ordinance shall be both for you of the congregation, and also for the stranger that sojourneth with you, an ordinance for ever in your generations: as ye are, so shall the stranger be before YHWH.
16 One law (torah) and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you." (Numbers 15:15-16 RNKJV).
Although the kingdom of Elohim
is not meat and drink (Rom.14:17), in the renewed covenant Elohim’s instruction
(torah) has been written in our hearts.
Jeremiah 31:31-33 31
"31 Behold, the days come, saith YHWH, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith YHWH:
33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith YHWH, I will put my law (torah) in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their Elohim, and they shall be my people” (Jeremiah 31:31-33 RNKJV).
Matthew 5:17-19
"17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law (torah), or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law (torah), till all be fulfilled.
19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:17-19 RNKJV)
STRIVING FOR ELOHIM'S BEST
As Elohim’s people we ought
to strive for Elohim’s best in our lives. When it pertains to what we consume
for our nourishment, we should follow Elohim’s example. To consume what He
consumes. The things that Elohim consumes are clearly identified by looking
at the items that were prescribed to be offered to him. Having a knowledge
of clean and unclean animals before the torah was given, Noah offered to
Elohim clean animals as a sacrifice.
In every other place throughout
the scriptures where it records the sacrificial offering of animals to
Elohim, only clean animals are offered. It is believed that this is the reason
for Elohim giving instructions to consume only clean animals.
The dietitians and physicians
only confirm Elohim’s instruction on food when they prescribe diets excluding
fat and certain types of meat. In striving for Elohim’s best regarding health,
the believer should follow Elohim’s biblical instructions. The Most High that
knows all things, also knows what is best for our health so that we may
serve him more effectively and bring Him glory.
